Translated by Driftwood Ashore

O Woman!

Lift your face from the lap of earth
O Sita, millions more trials you have to undergo
Do not think you are defeated
Ram cannot join you now
Buried he is beneath the burdens of rectitude
Dharma of companionship
How can he keep up with

Arise and smile, O Sita!
Arduous the path ahead
Nevertheless, be not worried even a bit, O Sita!
Resultant of my stubbornness
My scattered hair, come tie them now, O Krishna
Countless Duryodhans abound here
So much entrusted and expected of you O Krishna
Support yourself O’ daughter of fire
Why do you allow yourself to be spread-eagle at the betting table
Destroy this grotesque game , O Krishna!

Who do you wait for in perpetual eternity, O Ahilya?
Why do you wish to be human again, when you are Ahilya?
Inherent is your self restraint
Why then this desire of being blessed, O Ahilya
Be Ram yourself, you are , O Ahilya
Do not utter, Ram you are my savior, O Ahilya

Guru, friend, father, son, beloved, O woman!
Why are you embroiled in these storms, O woman
You are the boat, you are the boatman
Why are you gripped with fright midstream, you are woman
Row your boat across yourself
Why do you forget, you are the one who trounced demons

Creation of nature, you are
Half body of Shiva, you are
Pick up the drum/dugdugi of valour
You who wears the payal/anklet come do the Tandava too

Eons changed, change yourself , O Sita
Be Krishna yourself, O friend of Krishna
Be brave now , O Ahilya
Why should any Nirbhaya lose her life
My female friend, be valiant from birth
My female friend, Renounce the love of feminine body
Transform yourself into Chandi
You are the image of Devi

Divide everything in equal halves
In man, half woman, you are
In you too, there is half man
Inimitable part of the almighty, you are
Never for a moment assume yourself as inferior
Challenge yourself, awaken your valour
Rise now, cross every Himalayan obstacle
